I am a member of both the Local Association and Aberystwyth CF. Therefore i have a good view of both our respective groups and how they operate and whow they could be made better. Personally Aber CF members can benefit from getting to know the Association better, become more involved locally and become and feel part of the community, i certainly did. From being a member of CF at university, to feeling like an actual resident, a place where i belong.
We can benefit from each others vast experiences, values and enthusiasm. Our Association here in Aberystwyth is offering students rich experiences, for example the ability for CF members to represent the community as councillors.
If elected I will endevour to organise mutual events and stronger ties with the Association. I will encourage our members to participate in suggested ?policy debate evenings? once a month, as well as our AGM?s and coffee mornings, other ideas may be in the pipeline! I will make sure CF members are represented at the Associations functions and vice versa.
We are lucky in Aberystwyth in having a very enthusiastic, extremely warm and friendly Association, it is too much to waste, therefore our ties with the Association I feel should be strengthened more then they have ever been, and I trust that this is something I will achieve and be a legacy for others to build on.
